Full Ceiling Repair and Replacement Across Three Bedrooms

This project covered comprehensive ceiling repair and replacement work across three bedrooms for Teddy at a residential property in Honeydew, Roodepoort.

The ceiling boards in all three bedrooms had begun sagging noticeably, a common sign of moisture damage, brandering that has come loose, or boards simply reaching the end of their lifespan. Rather than patch the problem, the brief called for a full replacement across all three rooms to restore the ceilings properly and prevent the issue from recurring.

Our team started by clearing each bedroom and carefully removing the sagging ceiling boards, taking care to protect flooring and furniture throughout. All removed material was dumped off-site as part of the scope. With the old boards out, we inspected and levelled the brandering planks, securing them firmly to provide a solid, even base for the new ceiling.

From there, we installed new Rhino ceiling boards across all three bedrooms, fitted chrome C/Strips at the joins for a clean finish, and installed Rhino cornices around the perimeter of each room. The final step was a full repaint of the ceilings, giving each room a bright, uniform, finished look.

Project Challenges & Solutions

Working across three bedrooms at once meant carefully sequencing each room so that furniture and flooring stayed protected while boards were removed and replaced. Our team worked room by room, completing each stage fully before moving to the next to keep the household disruption to a minimum.

Some of the brandering had shifted out of level over time, which we corrected during the levelling stage to make sure the new Rhino boards sat flush and did not develop the same sagging issue in future.

The bedrooms now have safe, level, and freshly finished ceilings, resolving the sagging boards and giving each room a renewed, uniform appearance. Teddy no longer has to worry about the structural concerns that come with a failing ceiling, and the finished paintwork ties the rooms together with a clean, consistent look.
